This is the experience of a lifetime – an intimate elopement, a years-in-the-making family vacation, or the wedding you’ve long dreamed about. Whichever it is, this trip means a lot to you. And you know it’s going to be full of moments you hold close to your heart forever.
However, planning an experience with such meaning and purpose behind it is never easy. Besides the emotional intricacies, there are the overwhelming logistical details required of an event crafted with such love and care. While you’re smiling on the outside and telling friends you can’t wait to be stood with your feet in the sand and a Mai Tai in hand, you’d be lying if you said your stomach wasn’t doing a few nervous flips whenever you think about your upcoming Hawaii trip.
I wouldn’t blame you if capturing radiant sunrise photographs has slipped to the bottom of your to-do list, far behind daily ocean excursions and chill days at the beach. But trust me when I say, the second you step into your Hawaii adventure, you’ll want to do everything you can to preserve the awe and tranquility that washes over you – and the most honest way to do this is with photographs.
I know I’m biased, but there’s something about Hawaii wedding photographs that makes them inexplicably special. From the golden hues that sparkle through every moment to the salty air you taste with every sweet embrace, Hawaii is the wedding destination for couples in love.
You deserve to soak up every taste, smell, and feeling of your Hawaii wedding day. This is why, while you’re lost in the moment, I’ll be behind the scenes protecting and preserving it.
Together, through a combination of candid imagery and intentional prompts (I promise to never make you feel like a puppet being pulled this way and that!), we’ll capture the photographs that commemorate the story and details of your day.

You’ll never be the same as you are right now – two people in love, standing on the coast of Hawaii, seeking out and soaking up every reality-defying magical moment.
I’m here to memorialize this time with imagery that captures you as beautiful and comfortable as you are lost in your lover's eyes. Because I know these are the moments – lost in laughter and silliness – that you feel your truest.
Whether you’re celebrating your engagement, snapping next year’s Christmas card, or capturing ‘just because’ photographs during your Hawaii vacation, you deserve to embrace & celebrate how wonderful your love feels.
Investment Begins at $550
As a mom, I know the urge you have to stop time and savor every moment with your growing family. And I understand that precious moments like trips and vacations only intensify this craving. But, unfortunately, no matter how much we persist, our families will continue to grow before our eyes. The best thing we can do is ensure we capture every moment we can and hold them close to our hearts as the tide of change sweeps forward.
You’re thinking, “Yes Amanda, I’m desperately trying to protect and preserve these fleeting moments, but my energetic family doesn’t always make this easy breezy!” I get you. Any time I have outside of photography you’ll find me chasing my little boy around our island home, and it’s been the perfect preparation for photographing equally lively families, just like yours.
Trust me when I say, I know how to handle unexpected situations and steer your experience in a positive direction. It’s normal to feel worried about things not going to plan – whether that’s about how you look or how your kids are feeling. I want you to leave these concerns behind and lean into this experience as you would any other family adventure.
We’ll capture the ‘must-have’ traditional shots, but after that, I want you to enjoy the experience. Run through the sand with wet toes, snuggle up to your little ones, and take all the time and space you need. The truest, most beloved photographs always come from these intimate in-between moments.

Yes! Wherever love goes, I follow. You can hire me for Hawaii wedding photography in Kona, Waikoloa, Hilo, Oahu, and Kauai. Just let me know your Hawaii wedding location when you inquire. As I am based on Hawaii Island (The Big Island), sessions on other islands require a minimum one month notice. Inquire here.
I offer 15-minute sunset, beach mini-sessions at a predetermined location in Kona or Waikoloa. Receive 10 edited and color-corrected images via your personal online gallery.
Every mini-session includes Hawaii shoot planning, location guidance, your necessary beach permit, and the option to extend your photo gallery.
Photos are delivered 14 days after your session.
Everything you need to prepare for your Hawaii photo shoot will be sent to you before the day. Guidance on location, travel, outfits, Hawaii florist vendors, and more are part of the Amandalani photography experience and ensure every part of your Hawaii photo shoot is easy and enjoyable for you and your loved ones.
For extended family beach sessions, I have a 25 person cap on how many people can attend your Hawaii photo shoot as commercial permits only allow up to 30 people maximum. Please be aware, if you have desired images and a large number of people, your shoot time will need to account for this.
However, If you're inquiring for an event with a party larger than 30 people I am able to accommodate your wedding/event if you're at a venue or resort property.
We’ll determine the logistics of your Hawaii photo shoot during the planning process to ensure we can capture the photos you desire without sacrificing the quality of your experience.
Great question! Every sunrise and sunset will be different depending on the year, side of the island, and weather. Generally, sunset is more golden with colorful skies, and sunrise on the west side of the Island will be a softer pastel light, slightly cooler temperature.
Most travelers here arrive from an earlier time zone, so sunrise is great for kids and early risers. Beaches tend to be very quiet at sunrise, while at sunset you will have more than a few beachgoers around.
I’d love to! Navigating new locations is equally exciting and daunting, especially when you have a stunning sunset photo shoot to attend! I provide every client with comprehensive island navigation guidelines and I’m on hand for any questions or queries you have regarding location, transportation, and making the most of your island experience. Keep in mind that I am respectful to only shoot at beach locations where a commercial permit is obtainable. I wouldn't want to jeopardize your session experience and as guests of the Island, it's important to have a balance of tourism and respect for local/native beach activity.
I’m here to capture your family as they truly are. The photographs we take together will tell your story, not something fictitious or false. This means I won’t repeatedly tell your kids to “smile for the camera”, and I don’t expect you to either. Instead, I’ll encourage you to act as you would usually – telling jokes, starting tickle fights, running, and chasing.

“Shooting with Amanda is always an excellent experience. She is very professional, friendly, and makes you feel so comfortable during the shoot. She has an awesome eye for details, lighting and angles, and she works very fast. The finished product of her images are always stunning. 10 out of 10, I would highly recommend booking her!” - Winona

I think preparation is key and I will send you tips to prepare for your session ahead of time, and while I do take a few traditional images (smiling, everyone looking at the camera), I think it's a waste to spend the entire session doing this. This means I won’t repeatedly tell your kids to “smile for the camera”, and I don’t expect you to either. Instead, I’ll encourage you to act as you would usually – telling jokes, starting tickle fights, running, and chasing.
Should I be worried about my young kids not cooperating on shoot day?
So, “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”, and I’ll give you moments of real, unrestricted joy. I’ll capture your family at their most beautiful – soulfree & honest.
